June 3rd- I did go to a cat cafe after I got home from Venice. I sat there for about 5 hours and hung out with some cool cats. I did find a cool park and bar that I want to take my friends in Prague 8! I’m trying to go to all the neighborhoods I think I’ve done 1,2,3,7,8 because I can think of specific things in those but I’ll have to make a better list

June 4th- today I did a cooking class at the school! We made chicken soup from scratch and Moravian wedding cake with plum and poppyseed filling. Delicious but interesting. Then Sarah and I went to the Klementium, an old Jesuit school in old town that is now part of the National Library. We did a tour before my astronomy class and the tour was actually all about astronomy- we even went into an astronomical tower and saw the city from in the center of it which was cool. This afternoon I had class and then Jenny and I made fajitas for dinner at state after we went to Tesco.

June 5th- Today I had a quiz in philosophy. It was Luke's birthday so after class I met Libby, Savannah and the rest of the group at cross club-we sat outside because it's like a beet garden during the day. We got mojitos, Nik's favorite, and then I took a nap after. That night we went to the theater with the school and saw a show at Jatka78. It was a skit type opera/circus/theater but it was really interesting and artsy. Half in Czech and half in English. They were awesome singers and they played instruments in different ways-they played a violin with huge pieces of strings, and the girl was walking around on people while playing-very different. We went to Duplex that night and did not get home until the sun was up unfortunately-I am always running behind on sleep here.

June 6th-Class! Then Jenny, Diego and I went to Palladium and I bought new clothes at H&M. That store is much better here for some reason. Then we went home and I facetimed people and made dinner. Afterwards we went to Usudu, a 3 story underground wine bar which was super cool and super cheap. We got a big group to come bar crawling which was nice. Then we went to Popo Cafe which is in Old Town and got a pitcher of Sangria and a HUGE bucket of mojitos-like 8 drinks in one. I had to get up early for Friday class just this week though.

June 7th- I had a friday class-then a small group of us went to Hostivar Reservoir Beach outside of the city and paddle boated. It was pretty-surrounded by a small forest and it was quiet which was very nice. Then on the way home we stopped off the red line at Vysehrad, a fortress which is at the top of the hill with a beautiful view of the city and the river. We wandered around there but I want to go back with my nice camera. Then we went to Sad Man's Tongue for dinner-burgers. After this we went to Stalin Containall-it is a skate/beer garden park on the top of Letna where there used to be a giant Stalin statue but they tore it down and made it into a big space where they have DJ's and events. The view of the city was awesome-Prague has a lot of good views, lots of hills. Then we met up with some other girls and got gelato and walked around Old Town at night which was nice.

June 8th-Kunta Hora day trip! We woke up early and got on a bus to a little town about an hour from Prague. It used to be a silver mining town so it was really rich in the early centuries. The town sits on a mountain and it is really beautiful-we had a tour of the bone church where they decorated the walls with skulls and bones. Then we had a tour of the Saint Barbara church-she was said to have been beheaded for refusing to marry a pagan king and then the king was struck by lighting so she's the patron saint of miners in a town that used to be a mining town. The cathedral, as it actually is, was really cool you could walk up the 2nd floor and all the stained glass was hand painted. We had a tour of a silver mine-which was suuuuuper small and narrow and the guide turned off all the lights at one point and it was extremely dark. It was a cute little town with cobblestone road and it was a nice half-day trip-we were back by 5. Tonight we are going to James Dean bar.
June 9th- Today we went to Cesky Krumlov! It was 3 hours away by bus and I went with Sarah and Claudia. We arrived in the quaint little town on the river with the castle on the hill. The roofs were all red and you could see everything from the top of the castle hill. We climbed up the tower, which was hand-painted on the outside-the views were so pretty, the town was surrounded by hills and mountains. It was really charming. The castle was HUUUGE and we walked around the gardens and through these passageways. Then we saw the monastery and St. Vitus Church, we got gelato and tried the eggenberg beer which used to be brewed there. For lunch I had a potato omelette with pork and raspberry lemonade on tap.
