Day 1!
May 6th: Raleigh, NC > Nashville, TN
Back on the road again. Can’t keep me away. This time I’m heading out to Wyoming to spend the summer working at the Grand Tetons. A couple of my friends agreed to spend 2 weeks with me in a car exploring the West.
We loaded up the trusty, car top carrier and set off towards Nashville, the first stop on our 2 week trip. We checked out Broadway Street, listened to 1 of the 100 country music bands playing a bar on a Friday night, and headed back to the hotel for some well-deserved sleep after completing day 1 of 3, eight-hour driving days. Since we only have 2 weeks on the road we are booking it to Denver.
Day 2!
May 7th:
Nashville, TN > Kansas City, MO
Another 8 hour day but we left around lunchtime from Nashville and stopped in St. Louis to check out the Gateway Arch. I haven’t been there since I was a kid and they recently re-designated the Gateway Arch as a National Park. The park was really nice! Worth a stop.
Day 3!
May 8th:
Kansas City, MO > Denver, CO
Currently still in the car on the way to Denver. Not much to report today.. except we did find an artist named “the guy who sings about cities and towns.” Worth a listen for a laugh, there’s even a song about Raleigh!
